Episode Summary

Gracie Kramer is a UCLA Gymnastics Alumni, 2018 NCAA National Champion, 3x All-American & hold a Perfect 10 floor routine.

Continuing on the gymnastics trend from last episode with CrossFit superstar Kari Pearce and how her gymnastics background proved pivotal in her athletic and business careers‘ success, this week we bring to you a former UCLA gymnast who earlier this year scored the seemingly impossible perfect 10 for her floor routine. This is her path to a perfect 10. This is Becoming Gracie Kramer!

The perfect 10 is a badge of honour to wear for the rest of a gymnasts life, but the path to achieve this is not for the fainthearted. Intense childhood training, sacrifices from her parents, 40+ hour training weeks, highly-competitive pressures to perform, expectations of body image, the constant juggle of academics & the impact they all had on her social & emotional well-being in order to achieve her dreams & aspirations are just some of the topics we covered with Gracie during this episode.

Gracie was also raw & real with us explaining how she overcame mental blocks during competition as well as courageously opening up about her struggles with mental health and how she channelled her inner demons to inspire the choreography behind her perfect 10 floor routine.

"I’m literally my own bad guy. I feel like i’m being chased, I feel like i’m being haunted and then turns out I wake up and it’s myself.” - Gracie Kramer.

So maybe your an aspiring gymnast, a parent/coach of one, or perhaps you’re interested in the process and reality of elite childhood athletes transitioning to adulthood... whatever the case, you are going to find a lot of great learning in this story of Becoming Gracie Kramer.
